Grace Youth Ministry Quarterly Outreach Events: GYM nights – fun, food, and friends! Grace Youth Ministry Goals Why we do what we do. The Grace Youth Ministry (G.Y.M.) seeks to impact the lives of students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As we continue to build relationships with students, we do so in hopes of bringing them to a greater knowledge of and experience with the love of God. The G.Y.M. seeks to fulfill what we believe God has called us to accomplish, as found in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Growing Helping students GROW in their faith in Jesus Christ involves helping them understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. This is primarily accomplished through Bible Study. Our main Bible Study programs are the Junior High and Senior High Sunday school classe taught each week.
Reaching One means of helping our students REACH unbelieving students is by offering non-threatening activities to which our students can invite their non-Christian friends. By seeking to build relationships with these students, we have the hope that we will get to expose them to Christianity and to share the love of God through Jesus Christ with them. We have done this by providing outings and other activities for the students to participate in.
Applying As is true with adults, helping students to APPLY their lives to ministry is a real challenge. Looking at the needs of others and then seeking to meet those needs is sometimes difficult to accomplish. However, because we are commanded by Jesus to love our neighbors as we love ourselves, the G.Y.M. has sought to encourage the students to do just that.
Connecting Throughout all of our programs and activities, we try to help students CONNECT with other Christians. However, this purpose is primarily involved with offering students the opportunity to meet together with other brothers and sisters in Christ for mutual support and encouragement in a less formal setting. We have continued to offer our students weekly small group opportunities, meeting in homes, in order to help students "CONNECT."
Exalting The greatest thing we can encourage our students to do is EXALT God with their lives. As students give their lives to Christ, they begin examining every area of their lives with the prompting of the Holy Spirit (what they do, where they go, what they listen to, what they watch, what they say, and how they treat others), and then seek to bring glory to God in those areas. Their lives will begin to be fruitful as they become more like Christ. |
